Observation Point

Observation Point is a muck dive on Normanby Island, north of East Cape, that only few boats reach. Mangroves, seagrass, rubble and sand slopes do not look attractive, but they hide a remarkable range of critters. Divers report juvenile batfish, seahorses, mimic octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, Spanish dancers, snake eels, stargazers and Coleman shrimp on fire urchins. It is regarded as one of the classic muck dives of the region, alongside Dinah's Beach.
