Marsa Assalaya
Also known as: Marsa Assalai · Marsa Asalay
From the beach the bottom slopes gently over seagrass towards the reefs on either side of the bay. Hawksbill turtles are frequent on the reef, while green turtles graze on the seagrass in the south of the bay. A dugong is seen from time to time. The bay is calm and well protected, which makes it popular with beginners and snorkellers, yet the outer reef also allows deeper dives.
