Lockheed P2V Neptune

Also known as: Neptune MR.1

The Neptune MR.1 was damaged beyond repair when its undercarriage collapsed on landing at Luqa on 13 January 1956. After salvageable parts were removed it was sold for film use and sunk for an underwater scene of The Silent Enemy. Only part of the fuselage, wing stubs and engine covers remain, with other wing pieces half buried nearby. It rests on sand and posidonia and was rediscovered in 2015.
