Fort St Elmo Reef
Also known as: St. Elmo Reef · Elmo Reef
Most visitors to Valletta dive the HMS Maori, so this reef on the seaward side of the fort is less known. The reef top deepens slowly to about 17 m before a drop-off to 35 m, with boulders, gullies and some wreckage on the sand. Typical sightings include moray eels, octopus, red groupers, damselfish and schools of salema. Morning dives are best, as the fort shades the reef in the afternoon.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
