HMS Hellespont

Also known as: Hellespont

HMS Hellespont was a Robust-class paddle tug launched on 10 May 1910 and stationed in Malta from 1922. She was hit during an air raid on the night of 6-7 April 1942 and sank in Grand Harbour. After the war the wreck was raised, filled with debris and scuttled outside the harbour, and divers rediscovered it on 15 May 1999. The bow section is missing, but the edges of both paddle wheel shafts are still visible. Visibility can be poor because of silt.
