D'Wall
Also known as: D's Wall
The wall begins in very shallow water and falls straight into the abyss, and Dive The World notes that it overhangs for most of the dive, so a torch is useful. Barrel sponges, large sea fans and black coral cover the face, with anthias and nudibranchs among them and pygmy seahorses on the gorgonians. A small cove at about 25 m is home to a group of giant trevally, and grey reef sharks patrol the blue. In April and May schools of scalloped hammerheads pass in deeper water, which makes this one of the best hammerhead sites of the atoll. The dive ends on a slope and a shallow coral garden with skunk anemonefish.
