Crack Reef

The dive takes its name from a vertical fissure in the wall that begins at the surface and plunges past 40 m. Dive The World describes two ledges at around 30 m where divers can look over the lip for resting leopard sharks, and several gorgonians between 21 and 27 m with resident pygmy seahorses. Turtles and whitetip reef sharks cruise along the steep face, and black coral grows on the reef. Steep buttresses lead back up to a busy shallow coral garden of hard and soft corals, a good place for the safety stop. The site lies close to Navigator Lane, so with the right current both can be seen on one dive.
