Gorgonian Forest
Divers drop onto a gentle slope with giant clams and hard corals and reach the main wall at around 12 m. From roughly 22 m down past 40 m the wall is covered with large sea fans and barrel sponges that give the site its name. When the current runs, fusiliers, giant trevally, dogtooth tuna, horse-eye jacks and grey reef sharks gather along the reef. Visibility is often above 50 m, and in April and May schools of scalloped hammerheads can appear. Groupers, midnight snapper, sweetlips and batfish add to the reef life.
