Two Step
Also known as: Pu'uhonua O Honaunau · Place of Refuge · Honaunau · Honaunau Bay
Two Step lies next to the Place of Refuge, a national historical park with rebuilt ancient Hawaiian structures, and takes its name from the two lava steps used to get into the water. Heading out to the right, divers reach a sand patch at about 12 m where 'Aloha' is spelled out in cinder blocks, then a drop-off to sand around 27 to 30 m. The deeper part is an underwater canyon with a second 'Aloha' near 30 m. Whitetip reef sharks sleep in shallow holes south of the boat channel, turtles are common, and dolphins are sometimes in the middle of the bay in the early morning. The turtles here are protected, and low tide makes the exit tricky.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
