Pahoehoe Beach Park
Pahoehoe Beach Park takes its name from the smooth type of lava along its shore. Divers enter from a semi-sandy spot at the north end of the park and swim straight out, reaching 10 to 12 m within a short distance. There, rocky outcrops alternate with sand patches, and heading north leads to lava tubes and ledges. The site is known for turtles, crabs and lobsters. West swells and low tide make the entry over the shallow shelf difficult.
