USS Kanawha
Also known as: USS Kanawa
After multiple bomb hits set her ablaze, the Kanawha was beached west of Tulagi but slid into deeper water overnight. The mast and crow's nest still stand about 10 m above the deck. Twin 5-inch guns, anti-aircraft positions, winches and the damaged bridge can be seen on a tour of the main features. Large schools of batfish, trevally and jacks gather around the ship.
