Tanavula Point

Also known as: Tanavula Point Drift

The island's sea cliffs continue underwater as a wall covered in sponges, soft corals, whip corals and large gorgonian fans. When the current flows, the point becomes a gathering place for reef sharks, schools of fusiliers, trevally and bumphead parrotfish. Eagle rays, dogtooth tuna and turtles are also reported. Divers usually drift along the wall, and down currents can occur at the point when the flow is strong.
