SS Richmond
Also known as: Pocahontas · The Richmond
All that remains are the massive engine parts, the paddle-wheel shaft and one hub, which stick out of the water and make the site easy to find. The water is only 10 to 15 ft deep, so it can be snorkelled or free-dived as easily as dived on scuba. Dive Hatteras explains the identification by the British steeple engine, a design the Richmond, formerly the blockade runner Blenheim, was built with. Access is via beach ramp 23, with the beach closed to driving near the wreck in summer.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
