Hesperides
Divers can swim between the decks at about 30 ft, and the propeller, rudder assembly, boilers and an anchor are well preserved. Plenty of light makes the site excellent for photography. In winter cold Labrador Current water lets mussels grow on the wreck, and in summer sheepshead, triggerfish, black sea bass and tautog return to feed on them. The site sits directly in the shoals, so currents and surge often prevent diving, and the shallow steering quadrant is a hazard for boats.
