Inland Sea

Also known as: Inland Sea & Tunnel

Dive trucks can park close to the pebble beach, which makes it one of the easiest shore entries on Gozo, although the slipway is slippery. The tunnel is dark at first and opens to a striking rectangle of deep blue water at its seaward end. Outside, vertical walls cut by fissures lead left towards the Blue Hole or right towards Whale Cave and Tal-Barba, with dentex and amberjack hunting along them and nudibranchs and tube anemones on the rock. Small boats ferry tourists through the tunnel, so divers keep to its sides and surface near the walls.
