Blue Hole
Also known as: Blue Cave
Divers walk over the rough coralline rock from the Dwejra car park and drop into a sheltered, tube-shaped pool. An arch in its wall, from about 6 m down to about 15 m, leads out to the open sea and is coated in golden cup coral, and a large cave lies on the opposite side of the hole. Outside, the dive usually heads to the jumbled blocks of the Azure Window, whose boulders fall away steeply to beyond 50 m on the north and west sides. Because of the sheltered entry the site is often dived in the afternoon when wind has closed other sites, and it is popular with freedivers and snorkellers as well.
