Punta Gavina
Also known as: Punta de sa Gavina
The boat moors on a shallow rocky shelf that runs along the coast and attracts schools of salema, octopus, groupers and brown meagre. Its edge drops as a colourful vertical wall coated in bryozoans, sponges and coralline algae, rewarding divers who like small life. At the base a small cave is packed with cardinalfish and also shelters forkbeards, slipper lobsters and orange shrimps. John Dory is reported from February to June, along with goldblotch groupers and schools of white sea bream. Below the wall the bottom opens into a wide Posidonia meadow.
