La Esponja
Also known as: Isla Esponja · The Sponge
The deepest part lies on the south side, where a cliff ends in large rocks whose cracks are coloured by bryozoans, cushion coral and sponges. These holes hide slipper lobsters, lobsters, scorpionfish, conger eels and groupers. The dive usually finishes on a rocky platform at 8 to 10 m on the south-west side, busy with rainbow wrasse, salema, barracuda and octopus. Schools of barracuda and tuna are often seen hunting smaller fish, and nudibranchs and anemones add colour. Anfibios notes that the fauna changes from day to day.
