Marissa

Marissa is a group of three sites, Marissa 1, 2 and 3, close to the Pearl Farm Beach Resort on the west coast of Samal. They are said to be named after the daughter of the resort's owner, and the resort maintains them as a sanctuary. Gentle slopes, small walls and undercuts carry good coral growth with many bubble corals, moray eels, sea stars and tube worms. Hawksbill turtles visit, and in the right season hundreds of jellyfish gather. The shallow parts make it a good training and snorkelling site, and also a pleasant night dive.
