Mavro Vouno Caves

These caves lie beside the ancient town of Akrotiri in the south of Santorini. They were shaped in lava after the explosive eruption that formed the island. The rock is rich in macro life, and moray eels, amberjacks, groupers and octopus are regular sightings.
