Paso del Cedral
Also known as: Cedral Pass · Cedar Pass · Paso de Cedral
The corals are mostly low because the site is washed by steady current, but ledges and cuts hold huge schools of grunts, porkfish and snappers. Big parrotfish, black groupers, turtles and nurse sharks cruise the slopes, and southern stingrays rest on the sand. The shy slender filefish hides in rope sponges, and the splendid toadfish can be found here too. Three large mounds covered in life, known as the Mounds of Cedral, are a favourite variation of the dive. The name comes from the road to El Cedral, the island's other settlement.
