Hastings Reef
Hastings Reef is one of the shallower outer reef locations, with an average bottom depth of about 13 metres and a reef top that is very shallow at low tide. The reef edge forms a wall that bends in and out, creating ravines and cracks where larger fish hide. Its best-known site, the Fish Bowl, is a shallow, coral-packed area full of reef fish. Turtles are often seen, and a school of humphead parrotfish gathers in the early morning. Giant clams and small reef sharks are seen along the reef edges.
