Los Morros
Also known as: Los Moros
The site lies a little closer to a submarine canyon than El Bajo, so the water is often cooler and visibility can drop in winter. Reef patches alternate with sandy stretches where garden eels sway, and large groupers, including goliath groupers, king angelfish and bumphead parrotfish are part of the scene. Its signature is the bigeye trevally tornado: thousands of jacks circle above the reef, and guides report whole dives spent inside the school. In winter many kinds of rays pass through. With a strong current running south, divers sometimes drift across to El Bajo and see both reefs on one dive.
