Orak Island
Also known as: Orak Adası
Orak Island lies in the Gulf of Gökova, a long boat trip of 1.5 to 2 hours from Bodrum, and is famous for its deep walls. Divers first cross rock formations that Blue Escape compares to a lunar landscape, and below about 20 metres these turn into a steep volcanic wall whose bottom Blue Escape puts at around 70 metres. Two routes are dived, and Scubago also mentions a separate Orak reef. Groupers, white groupers, rays, moray eels and lobsters live along the wall. The island's bays are also popular with liveaboards, blue-cruise yachts and snorkellers.
