Flat Rock

Also known as: Yassı Kaya

Flat Rock, called Yassı Kaya in Turkish, is a small islet south of Karaada, a few hundred metres from Aksona Bay and about 45 to 50 minutes by boat from Bodrum. The side facing Karaada is shallow and covered in seagrass, so divers explore the open-sea side, where the rock drops from about five metres to the mid-thirties. In 2016 a bronze statue of the late businessman Mustafa Koç and Badem, a Mediterranean monk seal rehabilitated with his support, was placed on the bottom. Strong currents make it a site for advanced divers. Groupers, jacks, barracuda, dentex and moray eels are regular, and Blue Escape mentions large rays.
