Poyraz Bay
Also known as: Poyraz Koyu · Poyraz Koy
Poyraz Bay takes its name from the Turkish word for the north-east wind and lies on the back of Karaada, about 40 to 50 minutes by boat from Bodrum. The dive starts in a few metres of water, which makes the bay usable even for discovery divers, and slopes gradually to a first rocky reef at about 16 metres. Further out, large rock pillars stand at around 25 metres and a wall continues to about 40 metres. Groupers, jacks, moray eels, octopus, lionfish, crabs and lobsters live among the rocks, and pieces of amphorae lie on the bottom. Blue Escape advises watching for current on the way back to the boat.
