South Point

South Point is a protected bay at the south end of Karaada, about 50 minutes by boat from Bodrum. Its right side and sandy bottom are shallow and used for beginners and training, while the left side leads over sand and seagrass to a wall between about 18 and 26 metres. A small cave near 26 metres is guarded by large groupers, and fan mussels grow in the seagrass. Away from the bay lies a hidden reef, called Sponge Reef by Blue Escape, which starts at about 20 metres and drops past 40 metres; it is covered in sponges and visited by barracuda, groupers, dentex and jacks. The bay is exposed only when the wind blows from the south.
