Fener Altı
Also known as: Lighthouse
Fener Altı, Turkish for 'below the lighthouse', sits at the north-west tip of Karaada about 20 minutes by boat from Bodrum. The rocks start at five metres and reach about 20 metres, which makes it suitable from beginners to advanced divers. Divers cross seagrass, sand and rock to reach patches of white coral, which dive centres say grows nowhere else around Black Island. Octopus, moray eels, groupers of all sizes, stonefish and parrotfish are common.
