Katipanan
Katipanan is one of the calmer sites around Apo Island and a common first dive for newer divers. Its broad slope is covered with hard and soft corals, including large hard coral formations. Turtles are frequently seen feeding or resting on the reef, often several on one dive. Reef fish such as anthias, butterflyfish and parrotfish are abundant, and sea snakes and nudibranchs also show up. The name refers to small cowry shells found among the corals.
