The Cathedral

Also known as: Cathedrals

The site takes its name from a big swim-through: Mermaid gives an entry at 35 m and an exit at 20 m, while Alor Tanapi and Divernet place it around 30 m. The wall and shallows carry dense, pristine coral cover and remarkable sponges, and Divernet describes thousands of redtooth triggerfish over the reef. Mola mola have been seen here. Because it lies in the cooler south, Alor Tanapi recommends a 5 mm wetsuit, and Divernet notes that weather often keeps boats from reaching it. Dive The World adds soft corals and sea fans with snappers and fusiliers, and moray eels and lobsters in the darker recesses.
