El Condesito

The ship was carrying cement to Los Cristianos when it struck the rocks off Punta Rasca, an accident that sources link to the building of the lighthouse a few years later. Storms have broken the hull apart, but the boiler, engine parts, hull ribs and petrified sacks of cement are still clear to see. The scattered wreckage has become a reef for trumpetfish, bream, barracuda, octopus and moray eels, with rays and angel sharks on the surrounding sand. Currents can be strong at times, especially for divers who continue down the deeper volcanic slope.
