Rosh Marine Protected Area

Rosh is a marine protected area on Socotra's north-east coast whose diving is concentrated on one large site, a reef with a drop-off roughly a kilometre off the beach. Operators reach it by boat and also run night dives there. Despite being so close to shore it is known for big coral formations and a lot of fish. Traveling Socotra lists white-spotted guitarfish, blacktip and whitetip sharks, manta rays, turtles, giant trevally, yellowfin tuna and groupers among the sightings. Sharks are seen most often in March and April and manta rays in November and March.
