Helmet Wreck

The wreck lies at the foot of a hill, upright with a slight list, with the stern shallower than the bow. The exposed main hold holds rows of depth charges, and stacks of helmets have corroded together under the upper deck. An aft gun platform, the propeller, engine room skylights and three radial aircraft engines are among the features. Corals, sponges and anemones have colonised the hull. Divers keep neutral buoyancy to avoid stirring the silt and must not touch the unexploded ordnance.
