The Nursery
The Nursery lies on the protected inner side of Bowen Island near its north-western point. A reef top at 3 to 5 m falls in small walls past isolated rocks and cracks to about 12 to 14 m at the moorings. Yellowtail, seapike, luderick, one-spot pullers and bream are abundant, and McFadyen counts the fish life among the most impressive he has seen. Boats tie up to moorings rather than anchor. It works as a bad-weather site and as a night dive.
