Navio do Leão

The site holds the remains of an old ship that has broken up completely, with its pieces scattered across the seabed. The wreckage now gives shelter to schools of fish and to crustaceans living among seaweed and small rocks. It lies in a bay that protects it when the wind blows from the open-sea side, which makes it a good dive for beginners. Currents can still vary here and sometimes call for some skill. It is part of the Marine National Park and appears on Noronha Diver's map off Leão beach.
