Amos Rock

Conosciuto anche come: Southwest Rock

Amos Rock, also called Southwest Rock, is named after a distinct rock formation on the reef top at around 5 m where schooling midnight snapper meet. From a gentle slope the dive reaches a vertical wall dressed in gorgonian fans and whip corals. When the current runs, groupers, snappers, mackerel, dogtooth tuna, trevally and Napoleon wrasse crowd the wall, joined by many whitetip and grey reef sharks. Pygmy seahorses can be found on the sea fans, and night dives in the shallows reveal nudibranchs, flatworms, crabs and lobsters. The site is used when strong north-east (Amihan) winds rule out the eastern sites.
