The Josie James rests well below recreational limits just off West End Wall; Roatan Divers gives 65 m and offers it only to technical divers. According to Wannadive the cargo ship served the route between the Honduran mainland and French Harbour; after a pump failure she took on water, and an attempt to keep her afloat alongside a larger vessel failed. Thanks to Roatan's clear water some natural light usually reaches the wreck, and Roatan Divers mentions hammerheads and other large animals. Sun Divers notes that on very clear days the wreck can be glimpsed from the reef above.
