Secchitella
Conosciuto anche come: Secchitella di Linosa
The shoal stretches about 70 m from north to south and is split by a canyon into two peaks, one at about 4 m and one at 10 to 12 m. Its east face drops in a jagged wall to a terrace near 18 to 20 m and then further into the deep, while the west side slopes more gently over seagrass and boulders. Sculpted columnar basalt and large rock masses give parts of the shoal the look of a drowned town, and the stock of a Roman anchor rests next to the canyon. Large dusky and golden groupers, dentex, gilthead bream, barracuda and amberjack are usual encounters. The site needs several dives to explore and is reserved for experienced divers.
