Tijeretas is a sheltered bay on the northwest coast of San Cristobal, about five to fifteen minutes by boat from the port. Inside the bay the water is almost always calm and shallow, with a playful sea lion colony, turtles, stingrays and reef sharks. Outside, the bottom descends in steps to deeper water, where eagle rays, dolphins and bullhead sharks have been seen. Dive centres use it for warm-up dives, courses and night dives and often pair it with the Carawa wreck.
