HMS Russell
HMS Russell was launched in 1901 and sank in the same minefield, laid by a German submarine, that also claimed HMS Nasturtium and HMY Aegusa. The wreck was first dived in July 2003 by the British technical team Starfish Enterprise. It lies completely upside down on sand with the stern section missing, and gun cases litter the area. It is a deep trimix dive about 4.2 miles from the St Elmo breakwater, and a Heritage Malta permit is required.
