This wall in the north-west of the atoll is almost vertical and turns sharply along its face like an elbow. The bend can set up current eddies, and these sometimes bring schooling action, with blue tang and grouper gathering off the wall. Deep-water gorgonian sea fans grow thickly on the face. Wire coral on the wall hosts tiny wire coral shrimp for those who look closely.
