ABC House Reef
Also known as: Air Batang House Reef · House Reef 1 · House Reef 2
The house reefs of Air Batang (ABC) bay lie right in front of the beach and are reached along a sandy path between boulders, with the bay sheltering them from current and waves. Shallow hard corals, some on rebar frames set up to help coral growth, host boring giant clams in the granite, flatheads, pufferfish, lizardfish, porcupinefish, eels, nudibranchs and anemonefish, and resident turtles and cuttlefish are often met. Between the reefs a sandy area holds gobies sharing their burrows with shrimps, crabs and other critters, which makes for long, rewarding muck and night dives. The reefs are used for training and check-out dives but remain healthy.
