El Bufadero
The dive descends over shallow volcanic rock and follows the slope down to the border of rock and sand, where most of the fish life gathers. Large schools of roncadores hang close to the bottom, and barracuda, trumpetfish and moray eels move between the formations. Stingrays, butterfly rays and green turtles are regular visitors. A small cave near the cliff, the bufadero or blowhole, gives the site its name, but one operator advises against entering it because of pressure on the ears. The varied depth allows a shallow route as well as a deeper one.
