El Balito

Also known as: El Valito · Marazul · Mar Azul · Mar Azul Valito

Divers climb down a ladder at the remains of a small harbour once used to ship fruit, then choose a route to the left or the right. The shallower part winds through caverns, overhangs and broad swim-throughs where sponges and jewel anemones cover the shaded walls. Light beams through openings in the rock give some passages a cathedral-like feel. The deeper route leads to a spacious tunnel or arch at about 26 to 27 m that opens onto sand, where rays, barracuda and seasonal angel sharks may appear. Lobsters, shrimps and several moray species live in the crevices.
