Waubs Bay
Also known as: The Bay
Divers enter beside the breakwater and follow the sand edge with the kelpy reef on one side, passing two small bommies before reaching a large granite rock split almost in two. Locals simply call it The Rock, and its crack shelters many fish while mackerel and trumpeter circle outside. Weedy seadragons are so common that ten or more can be found on one dive, alongside big-belly seahorses, cuttlefish, squid, Shaw's cowfish and rays on the sand. Close to shore a cavern holds large banded morwong. The safe entry and exit make it a good first dive, and it is even better at night.
