Anemone City

Anemone City is a broad plateau that sticks out like a balcony from the wall at the southern tip of Ras Mohammed. Hundreds of anemones cover it, hosting Red Sea anemonefish and twin-spot damsels, which makes it a favourite with photographers. A metal post in the middle of the plateau has been overgrown by corals. The dive usually starts here as a drift and then crosses the blue to Shark Reef, so currents can be strong. Trevallies, snappers, barracuda and napoleon wrasse pass along the edge.
