Vorderer Langbathsee

The Vorderer Langbathsee lies about 8 km from Ebensee in the Höllengebirge, below the Brennerin. It has been a nature reserve since 1965 and may be dived only with a Dive Card under an exemption, entering from the pebble beach on the east shore by the ARGE information board. The water is clear with sparse plant growth, and the most interesting range is down to about 10 m. Trout, char and pike are common, and big shoals of minnows are the highlight. Gear must be disinfected, dried for five days or last used in this lake to stop pathogens.
