Taucherwiese Klacklboden

Also known as: Klacklboden

Dive zone 1 of the Vorderer Gosausee runs from the western end of the dam, in the area called Klacklboden, for about 150 m to the Großer Stein, a prominent boulder on the shore. A footpath between the Gasthof Gosausee and the Gosaukamm cable car leads about 150 m to the site and its divers' meadow. The glacial lake is loved for its enormous visibility. It is dammed about 12 m for power generation, reaching 96 m depth from mid-June to late September and drawn down to about 36 m in winter, which can cloud the water while it refills. Diving is allowed from 15 May to 15 November.
