Punta Este
Also known as: Punta Este Costa · Parque Punta Este
The reef lies along the point of Punta Este, about 10 km from town on the road towards the Punta Loma sea lion colony. Its rocks form caves, small caverns and gullies where groupers, turcos and salmon shelter, and crabs, octopus and nudibranchs live on the bottom. Lobo Larsen reports the rare chanchita de mar here and notes that the whole reef needs at least two dives. Operators recommend high tide or a rising tide.
