Serpent Rock
On its north-eastern side the rock falls away fast, with a sheer drop at its tip, while to the south the sand slopes into a garden of gorgonians from about 30 m. Shafts and small caves on the western shelf shelter sleeping pink maomao and many other fish. Large scorpionfish and nudibranchs live on the walls, and shoaling and hunting fish work the current at the point. Deeper down, schools of deepsea damselfish are found where boulders meet the sand.
